Heh. this last weekend I spent a couple of hours at our local watering-hole/restaurant making noise again. The muscles are coming back…..

July 5, 2021 at 3:35 am in reply to: Questions about original bridge pin and neck up guitar support concern #6054I’ve used a neck-up for close to two decades without any issues. Just keep it clean and don’t leave it stuck on.
I did a four-hour thing on Friday….wow. It really was effortful. The music was easy but the aftermath is painful.
It’ll happen, I hope.
That was a great day. Every instrument in that photo is better than the others in one way or another – that was a very special day for playing 😀
That’s gorgeous. It’s in pretty great condition, too.
My first favorite album was probably the Kottke/Fahey/Lang dragon album. I learned ‘Cripple Creek’ and ‘In Christ There Is No East Or West” off it pretty much immediately, and a few other tunes later on.
Last favorite…hmmm. I keep finding new things. Maybe the current last favorite is Larkin Poe’s latest record, or the T Sisters’ latest. I’m open to hearing stuff, more so than ever, and it’s been a treat. We’re awash in great music these days.
My 10×10 office/music room is feeling mighty inadequate in comparison to some of these spaces 😀
But there is a certain amount of good music that emanates from it from time to time.
Chris, I didn’t know you played congas!

They’re something that I came across as a stroke of luck, and figured Daniel would make better use of them than I would. The LENO is apparently some sort of legendary bluegrass cap that is said to work with either mandolin or thin-neck banjo, and has a wicked cool clasp to hold the bar down, and all the padding so you don’t ding the neck.
The other one is just….neat. It can put a lot of clamping force on the neck for sure.
Glad you like them!
Well, Niles is real easy to get to now….
Enjoy the trip, and safe travels!
Belated Happy Birthday!
Thanks, John. Ordered!
