His performance of Bach is always amazing….
…not yet.
It comes with time.
That’s going to be a beautiful instrument, both visually and sonically. Be prepared to be wowed.
Hank – you’re too kind, thank you very much.
You’re a quick study, more than you know, and you’ll be on top of this stuff tout suite.
I can’t wait to hear you comping on standard’s behind Dee’s voice…..that’ll be a treat.
Sharing music is the best thing – both people, student and teacher, come away with something good.
Looks interesting, but an ebow was my go to for that kind of sustain back before I built a guitar with a Fernandes Sustainer in it.
….and now I want to put a sustainer in one of the acoustics….it’d be like combining the new bow with an ebow and a shred box, kind of like the Moog VO-96 acoustic synthesizer, which I got to try some years ago: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=crn-m6J7qcc
I’d like to read it as well – may I be in the queue, please?
Oh, I’ve got a Christmas song. Do you want video or just sound?
Safe travels. Stay dry on the high ground and play some tunes and relax.
Looks nice.
I have a small gig chair that I got at Target a billion years ago. It’s serviceable – though it hasn’t been used much lately – but it’s probably not as comfortable as your new chair.
Let us know how it works.

Let’s keep them in our thoughts. It’s going to be a rough patch, looks like.
Hoping you’re safe & dry in FL; that storm is dropping a lot of rain.
Outstanding!
That’s excellent. I just went in the other direction and found a non-SCGC 14-fret 00 cutaway (which model I’m still hoping and waiting for SCGC to make), about which more later.

Listened to a lot of classical as a kid. Then in the late seventies or early eighties I saw Fahey and Sandy Bull and Kottke in NYC, and got the Fahey/Kottke/Lang dragon album, and that collectively changed my perspective.
Of late, I’ve been listening a lot to Larkin Poe – while I love Rebecca’s singing, Megan’s slide playing is another thing entirely; she’s the heir to Lindley and Ben Harper and so forth. I don’t think there’s another slide player her age who can do what she does.
I’ve also been listening to Gwenifer Raymond, who’s reprising Fahey’s American Primitive. She’s a bit driven – before becoming a professional guitarist, she got a Ph.D in astrophysics.
I’d like to find a guitarist who solo plays old jazz standards on regular acoustics (vs archtops). The closest I’ve come is Miles Okazaki, who uses an acoustic archtop and plays standards solo, including some brilliant Monk.
I’ve been using Izotope Spire using my iPad only, and it is remarkably easy to use. The iPad mic is good, or I connect a Blue Snowball to it, and it’s even better.
It’s about as close to one-touch as I’ve found. I’m a technical guy but I still hate context-switching between pressing the record button and playing, and this elminates much of it. I’m trying to rig up a foot switch to allow me to start/stop the recording; that’d be about all I want./mh
I concur; I think we all did, indeed.
It’d be good to see everyone for a 45th anniversary celebration.
Just found some 35th anniversary stuff from the show in Felton. That was a good night.
