      Thanks, Hank,

Daniel: I don’t expect to be rich, though if the stock hits certain numbers, it’ll accelerate retirement by a couple of years and make some things possible that I’ve held off with the idea that growing the retirement portfolio was more important.  I fervently hope it’ll amount to enough to justify some time off.  I’d very much like to get to Chamouille…..

And Hank, I live by Walter Becker’s dictate about GAS, as evidenced by this article: http://sdarchive.com/gas.html .  😀  –  I do not think I have the panache or repartee to be a guitar store owner like Stevie Coyle or the late great Stan Jay of Mandolin Brothers in isdaten island* in noo yawk, who was the platonic ideal of a guitar shop owner – the first time I walked in, he handed me a 1939 D’Angelico and asked what I thought of it……and I put it down very carefully after reading the price tag.  But it was goooooood.  But who knows what the future will hold?

The key thing right now is, as Hank noted, to get my tax act together.  AMT is no joke.  I need to figure out how to exercise in a way that won’t leave me owing more taxes than gains, which is no small challenge, apparently. My existing exercised shares are a bit close to AMT qualification for comfort, but we’ll see how it all works out.

        * How did Staten Island get its name?  Henry Hudson was sailing around Sandy Hook, and he looked off to the northeast and said “Is dat an island?”   Dad jokes…

E-7 s/b Em7,  since the forum software reformatted it.  It’s 022030 relative to the capo.

Capo 6 (if you want to play in the key the video is in.

Verse is D-G-A shapes above the capo.  The D is 200232 (relative to the capo) so there’s a bass note on the sixth string that works with it.

Chorus is G-D-A-E-7, G-D-E-7, more or less, though the E-7 can also be a Bm7 {X24432 relative to capo) to mix it up.

That’s like a ten minute approximation  I’ll listen to it again later and see if I can zero it in closer.

They’re good picks.  I don’t play with pics much, but Blue Chip and Wegen are my go-to when needed.

Now it’s up to you to teach him!

You can do this…..and if you make it fun for him, you’ll ensure a worthy heir to the Zorro.

Pretty H-13.  They’re wonderfully proportioned and they sound great.

I have to remind myself, when playing them, that the body fret isn’t the octave.  It’s led to some harmelodic moments….Ornette would be proud (and probably appalled).

Another vote for SC low tension.

About the only instrument that doesn’t always get them is a Martin OMC-15E that works pretty well with D’Addario  Nickel Bronze – and that guitar sounds pretty good with them.  The rest pretty much use SC low tension; they sound great, feel good, and last forever.
