Val McCallum is almost the funniest thing on two legs when playing with his band Jacksh*t.
Saw them at McCabe’s with Jackson and Dave Alvin and that was worth it right there……
That’s breathtaking. Hope I get to play it someday!
Yeah, the Ultra Tonic sounds good in Tad’s guitars….I may put one into the 00.
Pics and video, please?
‘75 for me. But I have a hair less experience on the planet than you…..
Had a feelin’ that was you.
I’m trying to see it but it looks as though it’s local to your machine.
Sorry for the long reply; we’re going public and I am, err, a tiny, tiny bit busy.
I’ve used the Baggs iBeam in the past, which is great at low volumes.
The Ultra Tonic does much the same thing but with the ability to tune the pickup to the instrument.

Is this the one I played at your place?
If so, my takeaway was that it had a bright bark that is like a jazz guitar with huge warm bottom, and lots of string-to-string clarity.
Love those things. I will eventually track one down….
Mine seem to do ok here – the rh is mostly pretty reasonable, and the house is 40-45% most of the time.
If I take the instruments where it’s dryer, like the desert, they do get louder and open up.
Time to go play now 😀
Stay warm and market iguana-skin case covers!
It’s attention to detail.
ALL the details.
Nothing seems to be too small to matter.
That sets a standard that’s amazing across the board.
>> …..no I love all the tourists
For values of ‘love’ that include screaming and yelling and leaving town when they invade – right?
Awesome. Wish I could be there to play with….
It’s an extraordinary design. A few years ago, AcousticMusic.com in CT had one made of spruce and mahogany, and it was sublime. Had I not been in the midst of a cycle tour from NYC to Boston at the time, it’d have followed me home.
