Magwa….Great to have you back with the band.
Always enjoyed your posts.
Now you just have to decide what order to but the songs…..makes a BIG difference Ya know .
Looking forward to hearing it Daniel.
If they had an FTC it would be on its’ way to the Fl. Gulf Coast.
August 11, 2019 at 3:57 pm in reply to: Santa Cruz Coffee Break Lunch with Richard Hoover #2 Richard in Nashville #2726Sorry for the delay in thanking Both Richards and Tad for bringing us a second edition of the Coffee Break.
I have had computer issues for the last week……I have come to believe that Digital devices are a lot like woman….you know the rest.
Just like the first edition I enjoyed the second.
It would be interesting if we SCGPF members could know when the next session with Mr. Hoover might take place and have us submit questions to “Otis” in real time.
Of course we would submit the questions via this forum and so would have to be members in good standing and the Moderators or Mr. Hoover himself could peruse the submissions prior to commenting/or not.
Might bring a bit of member participation to the event.
Thanks for taking the time to do the “Event”….always learn a bit from them.
Thanks Richard…..my SCGC Ramuda gives me great pleasure and peace everyday.
I’ve never been a fan of Myers……until now.
He really does “Get IT” at least with Wolf.
I don’t know why anyone would be frustrated because they can’t duplicate the solos of JG……Hell, I don’t think HE EVER played a song the same way twice.
Dee had some of her local jam band over the other day and I sat in and asked if they wanted to do “Friend Of The devil”?
I played rhythm (and sang) and another played lead and another bass……..we played the song for about 10 minutes.
I would guess that about 5 minutes sounded like the real deal…..then we just went our own way…..I think JG would have approved the improv jam.

July 18, 2019 at 8:20 pm in reply to: Santa Cruz Coffee Break-Lunch with Richard Hoover #1 podcast #2622Would love to hear Richards thoughts on laminate B/S.
Why does he not use them ? ( I’m glad he doesn’t )
I know some luthiers do and some very fine (and very expensive) instruments are made that way…would love to hear his thoughts.
post it Matt…..I’ll try to find some “enhancement” while I learn it.
Oh Lord ….the faded memories of “John Barleycorn” ricochet through the box canyons of my mind….. shooting avalanches in Little Cottonwood Canyon and and listening to ‘Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys’ driving back to Park City in the Utah winter night…..with a little help from the “Herb”…..I was so much younger then,I’m older than that Now.
I’ll look that song up tonight.
Your right about music being wonderful.
I have been playing a lot lately using Major chord “Grips” but playing up the neck positions to get different “Voicings”.
I used to always wonder why when I played a song it sounded so much less musical than the original even though I was playing the “Proper” chords…….now I have discovered the land of alternative voicing and am pleased with the improvement in my “Style” and sound.
I’m just curious about how capo would affect the tone of a baritone……..I’m still working on learning to play a ‘Normal” guitar.
Although I did buy Dee a Luna ” Uke”….she has 10 days to learn two songs or back it goes…….or I’ll learn to play it.

If you go before me….just send me the hat……AND the RS….then we’re square !!!
A SCGC ball cap is on the way to him……..
