My Sc 000 African Blackwood set.
I do love Koa…. I have a Taylor K62ce 12er I bought from Digdog…..It’s Very different than the AB
Will you be able to “Scoop” the Vault Guitars photos ?
PTO…..Maybe the Jewels are going to be some sort of directional sonic transfer devise……..
” UNLESS…..RH has created a pickup system that eminates from the wood itself”……..Note who was the first to expresses That thought…..
PTO, that was my first thought. Why a P/U on an intrument built from the oldesr woods on the planet ?
UNLESS…..RH has created a pickup system that eminates from the wood itself……..
Or, the guitar is going to a “stage player with Serious Chops”……
The #8488 picture may be the most beautiful neck joint I’ve ever seen…..But holy crap , can you imagine what some future SCGC luithier is gonna say to himself when that come in for a neck reset ????
What p/u system ?
Beautiful……But Hows’ it sing ?
Did you hear it?
Very ,Very enjoyable ….I love his knoweldge of the guitars world and his playing is wonderful.
His reviews of guitars and his Peghead Nation are on my Favorites.
Thank You Tad and Richard for again getting interesting and influential folks on the Podcast.
Daniel… It’s a typical El Nino weather pattern for S.W. Fl..
Our Rainey Season wasn’t….Very dry. June thru Oct. 24 inch deficent fron “normal”
Nov. was warm & very dry . Dec. has been wet and , for us, cool……But the “Snowbirds” are really hating the cloudiness. It’s been unusually overcast.
I have lived on the Gulf Coast of Florida for over 40 years and have been visiting this area all my life.
El Ninos have happened before and will happen again…..and so will Hurricanes…LOL
Daniel, I used to live where sunshine was rare…….My old bones need lots of Sun.
Fair Winds,
Hank
For many years I dropped (as in Oppenhimer) hints to both RH and mainly to Carolyn that the S.W. Coast of Fl. was excellect demographics for a “Boutique”( I hate that word), By Appointment only, Santa Cruz Guitar Co. Players Studio.
RH is a man of tradition and loyalty. He has his standards for those who represent is lifes work.
I was in the Marine/Yacht industry for many years and Yo comprendo the whole Builder/Dealer way of business matrix. I admire RH for his loyalty to “The Local Guitar Shop”. …but here in Fl. the dealers don’t have the inventory that I have in the Ramuda……Just sayen. More Multi builder shops that carry lots of instruments
But…. If I had my way(old folk spiritual) I’d love to have a small retail space with good acoustics and great enviros and a cool space, that looks out on The Salt , and one can really “LISTEN” to guitars……and keep a wee bit of Irish to enhance the “Experience”….By Appt. only.
Well I can dream can’t I !
December 20, 2023 at 5:34 pm in reply to: Richard Hoover talks about the “Vault Guitars” for NAMM #8424OH MY The Bling….THE BLING !!!
I have been following your advice Daniel and playing “The Ramuda”.
I have had an issue with some nerve damage from an old injury that affected my left hand and arm.
Having to work a little harder to play Barre chords and chord changes are not as quick. my grip is still strong but fingers are a bit numb.
But……Playing the SC breed still brings a smile .
