I will try my DADGAD repertoire down low. I’m in a trio where I play backup on guitar, Mandolin, and Weissenborn.
I am going over which tunes could use the lower registers.
My friend Don Alder has turned me on to a new pickup guy. I actually like the Highlander.
Someone’s custom order no doubt.
Tuned down to G. I’ve made it to B with my Dread Cutaway.
Ships out Monday.
thanks.
I went for it.
Will arrive next week

<p style=”text-align: left;”>In the last half hour I found a Cocobolo and Carpathian Baritone Dread Cutaway at a great price.</p>
Negotiations are in my favor…Gigs in California were starting up again. Then the Delta variant started to defy vaccinations. The band Grateful Shred played to a full house in Felton, up the road from the Mother Temple.
In spite of vaccinations, the entire band got Delta sized.
I have/had a NYE gig here. 30 minutes as an opener. I’ve been writing surf inspired instrumentals. The venue owner told me that advance ticket sales ground to a halt due to the rise of infections. I already bought tix for Los Lobos and Sierra Hull.
We shall see how it goes.

I practice every day. Band rehearsals twice weekly. I’m honed and ready.
At Sylvan in Santa Cruz I played 22 different SCGC guitars.I loved 2 of them. One was all Mahogany, the other was EIR with a Redwood top.
I hear a certain sound and respond to it. I played an all Mahogany SCGC a few days later that is still screaming, ” BUY ME!”
In that same store was a Bourgeois/Schoenberg OMC that was screaming the same 2 words.
Compare the Janis Ian and PJ. I see they are both listed together in Date Your Guitar. I played an all Mahogany PJ that was spectacular.
My Dread Cutaway was about $1,900 new. The Brazilian, Cutaway, and Brazilian binding added to the base price. Today it would cost me $19,000 to replace
The Brozman Baritone is the biggest and best for size, volume, thunder, and scary growl.
Like Tad, I found the wide nut and neck along with the slot head problematic. Plus, it didn’t sound much different than my SCGC Dread.
I wish I had kept it, but Steve Swan gladly accepted it in trade for and OM
