That’s exactly what I was getting at, and you said it in fewer words. If/when I can, I want to replicate that guitar – it was that good.
PM sent! Thank you –
The storm surge is just huge. The wave reports are wild – a friend is a biologist who uses shrimper boats as a way to get into the gulf. He said the waves were ad enough that no one on the boat wasn’t sick, and that was a couple of days before the ‘real’ storm hit.
The good news: New Orleans people are moving to higher ground if they can. Hoping it’s better than last time. My musician friends in NO have all their gear in storage out of town now, above flood water expected levels.
More coffee breaks? Those are outstanding.

Good news. I need some more low tensions. And maybe another guitar if I can talk Beth into it. 🙂
Here’s hoping you’re all safe.
We can smell the smoke but the fires aren’t that close to us (yet)
A general discussion of neck shapes would be interesting.
And talking about how they get the herringbone installed; theirs looks the best in the industry and I can’t figure out how they do it…doG knows I’ve tried.
“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.“ —Isaac Asimov
’nuff said.
My OM’s got limb shadows – ‘angel kisses’ or whatever they’re called – on the back.
It’s beautiful and it shouldn’t affect the structural stability – it’s 29 years old and hasn’t caused issues so far.

Sounds good, Zorro!
I have one of the old Boss/Roland small metronomes, and I spend a lot of time with it these days. If you can swing with a click in the background, that’s about as good as it gets.
Happy Birthday, Richard!
I’d like to get in the queue as well.
Almost everything comes back to 4 in one way or another.
I try to break it up by doing shuffle rhythms and such that make my thumb doing more work bc it makes the music more interesting by adding the offbeats. I got the idea from watching Bernard Purdue play drums, specifically his “Purdue Shuffle,” which has something on every beat but isn’t at all busy.
Counting “1 and a 2 and a 3 and a 4….” etc gives you time to think about where you’re placing the notes.
Got a chance to play some slide on a rosewood OMG recently and it was revelatory. Really deep and growly, just great. It’s a really good design.
