I just watched the video Of Richard Hoover using a Froe on a block of Redwood to produce tops for the Heartbreaker legends in luthiery guitars……..it was wonderful to see the process through his eyes.
THEN I MADE THE MISTAKE OF READING THE COMMENTS…….
I have only one thing to say………YOU CAN”T FIX STUPID…..Thanks Silicon Valley for inventing the end of civil discourse.

Well – its kinda like blaming Gutenberg for making information available to the masses. It’s hard to set rules, especially in a country that has taken the concept of Freedom of Speech to the extreme that every opinion and thought is equally valid, and that the more a belief is repeated, the more it makes it true –
Can’t blame the tools – just the product. Can’t find the video you’re referring to, but if you see, hear, or read something that is definitely untrue, you gotta call it out. The problem right now is Civil Discourse (along with simple truth and science) has disappeared as a basic expectation of our leadership and management, which then spreads quickly down the ladder – I expect its gonna get a lot worse before it starts to get better –

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.“ —Isaac Asimov
’nuff said.

Excellent quote….for both sides of the spectrum…..except for the fact that we are a Representative Republic Not a democracy.
” But no matter who plucks the strings it’s the fingering of the notes that make the tune.”
I JUST MADE THAT UP……..Love and respect Y’all .

As the moderator, I’m going to close this thread. The Santa Cruz Guitar Players Forum tries to mirror the message of Richard Hoover and the Santa Cruz Guitar company. We really need to keep politics out of this place folks. Let’s honor and respect each other that we all have different opinions and life experiences, no preaching here.
