No can do, sorry. Someone asked me if I had an iphone, I said “I got i-nothing”
Slow progress but… I do have an new replacement computer in place for a rebuild of my DAW which went down a few months ago. Not at all sure when I’ll have it back in full operation but it’s taking shape.
best wishes to SCGC on this glorious 45th birthday, bert

Hank, do they come with a seat belt?
The Army Corp of Engineers used to oversee the levy system along the Miss River all thru southern Louisiana (don’t know about today). In the early 80s, while my engineering work had me located in the New Orleans area for 3yrs. Each time we met with the Army Engineers they talked about their worries of the levy system not being able to stand a major hurricane. I got busy and was able to work out a transfer to Charlotte and never looked back, but….
made some great friends during that time plus I was also in Army Basic Training at Ft Jackson with about 40-50 guys from Louisiana. Always loved the people of Louisiana and my thoughts over the past few days have been very sad and yet the ever present reality…. the future at sea level in that area is not as great as the food and music.
I can still picture Louis Armstrong and the Allstars playing in the French Quarter. My heart goes out to the LA/MS delta. bert
A terrible tragedy Hank. Long ago I went to see Edwin Starr, during the Vietnam War, his song was a big hit… it was called ‘War’….. what is it good for, absolutely nothing.
So very sorry to hear about your buddy’s grandson. Just listened to the Blind Boys of Alabama’s version of ‘Amazing Grace’. bert
Welcome iim7v7im7, yes we have crossed paths, I have recently been admiring your Froggy Bottom on the UMGF. I go by ‘bertram’ there, been playing SCGC for 20yrs and believe you will be very happy with your decision. Eric Skye is a member here (plus has his own SCGC model), you’re in good hands as far as genre goes.
This is a fairly small, intimate community that is a very friendly place thanks to Rich & Tad, make yourself at home.
best wishes, bert
Thanks Daniel for remembering that one, Phil & Don.
Every Bros tune that says it all to me:
I’m intrigued by the possibilities of the wood combo. I’ve owned several Euro spruce guitars from Martin and Collings over the years but… my luthier built (Allen Williams) Carpathian spruce/sinker mahog small jumbo is tops. It has great punch, balanced bass and a sweet tone. The cocobolo should give it a good dose of overtone? Not me, but diff friends have owned not so great baritone guitars over the years, they all sounded throaty to me… don’t see that happening with your new baby.
We’re all excited for you Matt. best regards, bert
That’s a fine looking instrument, congratulations. bert
+1 Acoustic Soul
My VJ is from 2001 so don’t know if that makes a diff. It had meds on it when I got it 7yrs ago but never since. The Low Tensions work great for me. I’m not a strummer, I play arpeggio with a light touch with a BlueChip TD42 mostly. best regards and welcome, Bert

August 2, 2021 at 4:48 pm in reply to: Why are there no body dimensions listed on SCGC website? #6145Santa Cruz is a custom shop these days is my understanding. That would go along with not publishing specifications as each guitar is a custom build (?). Just a thought. bert
Just remembered, I made a rhythmic arpeggio video featuring my Eastman OM and the Shure SM81. Notice the positioning of the mic, extremely important to get a quality recording:
An old friend used to say ‘there ain’t no such thing as being a little pregnant’ Afraid that’s the way all this recording stuff goes.
As a directional mic, my one and only Shure SM81 has done the trick for the past ~7-8yrs, picks up very little ambient room noise and is great for argeggio. It has been used in many of the best recording studios for acoustic over the years. For Omni recording of vocals/rhythm guitar I have a Shure KSM44 as it’s companion. For home recording, these two a very high quality mics… IMO. bert
Paul, I love your choice of ‘Runaway’…. that song plus a few licks from Jimmy Reed are what lured me into guitar.
Max Crook was the co-writer of ‘Runaway’. In the below clip Max tells the story of how he and Del Shannon wrote the song. Del has been gone for a long time but sadly, Max(83) died last year. During it’s prime ‘Runaway’ was selling 80K 45rpm records/day. Max invented his ‘Musitron’ which he used along with his keyboard for the solo bridge in the song. bert
Right from the horses mouth here:
Very late to the conversation…. Matt, I understand how you feel. When I first got started recording, it was primarily as an aid to my music writing. One thing led to another and I wound up with a decent DAW for multitrack.
I was enjoying everyone’s comments very much and caused me to stop and think about a lot of my writing/recording.
I steal from everyone so if you hear a riff or two that sound familiar, that’s what it is, although it’s mostly original.
This is a 6 track recording I made a while back using my Eastman E20OM -TC acoustic, Ibanez Bass, GoldTone PBR reso, plus a few overdubs. The huge learning curve for me was EQ, make no mistake, still learning… it ain’t no piece of cake! bert
