Tom T. Hall and Don Everly……..

I vividly remember the Everly Bros and their guitars and their songs……Oh the guitars…. My “steady ” girlfriend my Jr. & senior year was named Suzie……Man did we live up to the words of the song !!!!

I hope I live to at least 84.

And in the less than immortal words of Paul McCartney:

Someone’s knocking on the door/ somebody ringing the bell
Do me a favor, open the door let ’em in…

          Sister Suzie, Brother John
          Martin Luther, Phil & Don
          Brother Michael, Auntie Gin
Open the door, let ’em in….

Thanks Daniel for remembering that one, Phil & Don.

Every Bros tune that says it all to me:

Ahh, and now Charlie Watts too.

Great drummer, apparently a gentleman as well.

Great Drummer and a gentleman…..that’s about as good an epitaph as one could hope for.

Years ago I sold a Boston Whaler to Cliff Williams of AC/DC…. He had a home on the Caloosahatchee River in Ft. Myers. I always delivered the boats I sold and spent a day getting the new owner comfortable with the vessel and the local waters.  When I landed at his Dock I saw a large gazebo upslope with folks setting at a summer table.

I tied off the boat and walked up the hill and Cliff Williams met me and introduced me to his mother, wife and children.

They were having High Tea…… I was a bit taken aback by the VERY civilized scene…… Then Cliff asked if I would like to see his studio and guitar collection,………That’s a story for another day…but it is a great story!
