As been said many times on many Forums….it is the BUILDER, more than the materials that produce the final “VOICE” Of The Instrument.
The great Violins were all built of similar materials. Great guitars use similar woods and bones and steel…..But the origin of the parts is only a small part of the end result.
AND By The Way….that is why we are rebuilding this Forum….because we are Believers !!!!Man, that is beautiful….but please post more pix when it is in your possession.
I know that you will play it with style.I have one built in to my D’Addario peg head tuner….if only I paid attention to it.
My sense of rhythm is why I play by myself.Y’all are killing me with your access to The Mothership and her Jedi…. Please ask Eric to play “take Five” by Brubeck. I have heard him do it and it is sublime.
I recently did a bit of looking into EVO and in has a hardness of 250. right between Nickel-silver at 200 and SST at 300.
I was thinking of having the OM “Tree” refretted with Gold EVO…just for cosmetic reasons mostly but also because I seem to be playing it quite a bit and I thought well Hell why not ??
I decided not to because I would want SCGC to do the job and I just can’t bring myself to ship it to Ca. and back to FL.
Any way I do have my 1993 Martin HD-28 that will need a refret sooner rather than latter…. I will do EVO Gold on that one.Friend Richard,
Dee and I would like to thank you for being you. When we were at your 40th event it was obvious how much the luthier/guitar player world loves and admires you….. Thanks you for your responses to our questions, and for the exceptional instruments that now call my corral home. I play one or two of the Ramuda every day and will ALWAYS remember at the end of our tour with you that our 1934 Zorro was at the last station with Gerard…. The picture of you and me with the guitar is a treasured image.

Have Gerard look at you Guitars..he is a player, He’ll tell you straight. When He and Richard and Carolyn introduced me to my 34 Zorro Custom, Gerard said “Never sell this one, It’s a Keeper “.
