Depending on the $$$ amount , the schedule of payment ,cash or stock, the time period you are required to hold the stock before you can sell you are entering an area of extreme tax consquences.
especially in your State of Ca.
You really need the advice of a good tax accountant AND a Certfied Financial planner who works on a “fee only” basis and is a fiduciary.
i know of several here in Florida but with the asset vacume that is the California Dept of revenue you should engage a firm that is liscenced in Ca.
UNLESS you move to the NO income tax state of Free Florida and establish residense here in the Sunshine State Before the tranaction. That’s why you are the Obiwan of this forum…..Thanks Matt

My first intro to SCGC was a 08 DA-1 Braz/ Sitka that I found in a Guitar Center in Ft. Myers, Fl.
It had been rode hard and put away wet and had lots of problems.
I called Carolyn and described the various problems. She looked up the records and told me the history.
She quoted me a price on repair and PLEKing. I sent it to them and they made it play like right out of the shop and cleaned up the cosmetics to a great degree.
I sold the guitar to help pay for the 1934 Zorro……made a bit of profit on it, but it was the improvement in the setup and playability that SC did that turned me into a SCGC fanatic.
Send it to “The Mothership” !!
Happy New Year to Y’all……Fair Winds,

matt,
He is in Boulder, Colorado…..But his dad plays bass so he will teach….That’s the way it should be.
As A “Grand” anything one does not labor…..But we do get to hear the results .

iim7v7im7,
First let me say that the pix you have posted are the best “In Progress” images I have ever seen submitted to our Forum……You must have some pull at “the Mothership” brother.
As to your difficulty posting….. I have a PC so obviously I have to do thing “the simple way”.
If I receive pics from Carolyn via email I download the images to my “Pictures” file.
Then if I want to post on our forum I sign in ,go to the area I want to post and click on the “mountain” icon.
Then I bring up my photo from my files…open and wait while it loads to the forum… then hit submit and that usually works.
IF it doesn’t work I send an SOS to Richard Newman… The “Big Mon” has never failed to help me solve the issue.
But then I’m just an old fart.
You are going to be a lucky man to own and play such a beautiful instrument.
That’s wonderful looking stuff…..I’m envious.
MOODY BLUES !!!
Who was it who said “There ain’t no money above the 12th fret”….or close to that … LOL
Congrats on the H-13.
I love my H-13 O.T.
Just wondering about strings on this video. I may have missed it but do they talk about what strings are on the Galager. I assume the SCs have SC mid tensions as they are OMs, but whats on the Galager?
The reason I ask is that I’ve been playing my maple F today and thanks to Chris I have discovered that I like the Elixer P.B. 11/52 custom lights on it more than the SC mids.
On the F the elixers give a much “Jazzier” voice that my Good ear likes.
Everything that is said in the Video about the Color of the tone woods (inside the instrument) may be true….I repeat “may” be true. but what about the strings ??
Just curious if the store guy took that into consideration ? Did the Player ?
Yea , I agree with Chris. The Spruce/Hog sounded like a better blend with his “Songwriter” voice…at least to my ear.
The Galliger was a sweet sound and well bassed.
would have like to have heard the SCGC Maple and the Galliger as a duo.
