They’re fixing to shut our power off, possibly. Officially we’re in a shutdown-adjacent area but it depends on the weather.
If the power does go out, I’ll be playing one of the acoustics. The Tele and DR just won’t do then……Old post, but here’s my Squier. It is perhaps a bit the worse for wear for a few live shows and such, but it sounds and plays wonderfully. At least three of the kids at work – yes, they’re in their 20s, I’m gonna use that word – want to buy it, and they’ve offered multiples of what it sold for new.
To which, “nope” and a smile is the correct response.

Nobody plays the guitar like Bob except Bob.
It is the will of Bob that it should be so.
(Anyone who got that last reference please say so.)
Heh. This didn’t sell at our annual flea market and the former owner gave it to us. As long as it’s standalone, it’s fine with building code.
It’s turning out to be where Beth & friends hang out. I need to claim it as a jamspace :). Hence the suggestion that visitors bring guitars and prepare to make noise.

Hoping to make it there in 2020 as well.

Well, we now have a side deck with a 16’ yurt (looooong story) in addition to the office and the music room, all of which can be repurposed for sleeping or jam. And there are airbnb and regular bnb here in the village. The house isn’t big but there might be enough space for jams outdoor on the porch or in the yurt….

That’s amazingly pretty. I saw a long-scale H-14 cutaway at Gryphon a while ago and waited a day too long; when I got there to get it, it was already gone.
We are blessed with a lot of choices
We’re hoping to get there at some point. Need to get the odd huge guitar through customs, too.
Even in the Bay Area, with Gryphon, Michi, John Mello, Alan Perlman, and more, it’s still hard to get repair slots. The good ones are all booked. Gerard in SC (and Stephen Strahm) do good work, and they’re not too far away.
Good to know. I have an instrument or two that could benefit from that.
It’s not laziness so much as needing time with different shapes to get your left hand accustomed to a good hike up and down the fingerboard. :). And like a good hike, it’s a workout.
It’s worth watching.
Dang, you stole my line!
