I was born on the last day of the first month of 1947…..I started playing banjo and then guitar when I was 12.  I Have NEVER felt more  attached to music in my life until watching the the above referenced series….if you don’t watch it in it’s entirety you will never never understand what my generation ,and my parents generation, have given to Y’All’

        Peace and Fair Winds,

        Hank

It is remarkably good, though I wish Ken Burns had had the time to dive deeper……

The first episode seems pretty deep.

                  Mate…..watch it ALL.

2,3,4 are the creation of the soul of the music.

The coming together of Scots-Irish Mountain music, Black Gospel and Poor White Hill-Billy.

Radio programs and early recording studios……Y’All Come Back Y’hear.

I am from Bakersfield. I grew up with The music of Buck and Merle. I got to play Merle’s OO 45 one day, the one with his name on the fretboard. I watched the Porter Wagoner Show Saturday mornings.

I can work backwards, but we all have our favorites.
