Really appreciate you guys doing this, great job. bert
Best wishes to you Richard. bert
One of my favorite sayings is that “if it don’t come in a can, I don’t know anything about it”
Matt, about the same here… mostly DIY setup tweaks:
– adj truss rod (approx) .005″- action (approx) 3/32 low E and 2/32 high E
– slot bridge – round pins
– cut new nuts/saddles as needed
– replace tuning machines, pickguards, etc
– some limited drop fillsBeing retired is goodly. bert
Paul, your OMs are sweet. The OMG rosewood in the demo sounds fab, got me jonesin’ and I’m a mahog guy. Years ago, Lindsay Petsch at Maple St told me that I play a rhythmic arpeggio, I said a what? (notes, not leads, off chordial patterns) Thumbing is as close to fingerstyle as I dare go.
That said, my two favorite guitars for the past 6mos have been my SCGC VJ sitka/mahog and a local luthier built, small jumbo custom – with torrified Carpathian spruce/sinker mahogany. One complements the other like a pair gloves. The Carpathian/sinker has been a real winner for me, great balance across the registers, up/down the neck, etc. I know Richard loves Carpathian. fwiw…. bert
Title says OM… should have said OMG. me sorry, bert
Thought this might be appropriate. In memory of my long gone but never forgotten best friends, I have their names engraved on a few of my Blue Chip picks. (by accident I gave away my ‘Lucille’ pick) The memories are always right there every day and the love goes on forever. bert

Amen, pass the cornbread. bert
In the 50s my father had the Ford version of that Chevy, never knew the exact year… but it was the first vehicle I drove. Come a long ways baby, great relaxed pic. bert
Thanks Z, needed that, got me back on my chassis.

Yo Yo Ma… seek shelter.
So sorry to hear, over the years I know how it feels more than I want to say. My little buddy ‘Bert’ passed away Nov 14. Like yours, he was a dogs dog and my best friend to the end. He was a Jack Russell/Basenji mix. We had 9 glorious years together, nothing can ever take the place of his spirit. He and I were a duet:
‘Angel from Montgomery’ is about as down to earth a story as ever told.
Lordy, hate to see them hearse wheels turning.
Guess it’s time I should fess up… Bert Swietenia Macrophylla is my true name.

Z, can’t get the link to work. bert
Good vibes there Matt, what a fortuitous concatenation of events.
Zorro, never heard of Art Bell either but made me think of Art Pepper, who also died of an overdose.
I’ve read way too many Michael Connelly novels for sure, in several he weaves and describes Art Peppers jazz sax so vididly that I had to download a couple of his albums. Boney James and Euge Groove are most always on my playlist, have a large sweet spot for jazz sax. Reading around about Art Pepper I found that most people only came to know of him through Connelly’s novels. so anyway,
I’m chillaxin, what virus…
