One of the great good ones. The bass he gave me gets regular usage and always brings back memories of him.

Thank you Richard and Tad for putting these together!
This is why. Tuck and Patti have their setup so canned – they know what the signal is going to the main board and they know what is required to get the sound they want in the house.
A fiend has a Kemper and it does amazing things….but it requires a lot fo effort to dial in a sound.
Same ones I have on my OMC-15E. Love ‘em!
That’s a great deal. I’m jealous – that’s a real find!
Which 510s? I am fond of the 510SXN-V (the ones that have ferrule shafts like closed-backs).
That’s great – it’s got a dovetail as well. Is it 1-11/16” or 1-3/4”?

2 in the last 20. 1 before that, bought, loved, and sold under time pressure to pay for college costs.
Hmm. Good thought. I’m kind of rethinking the whole rig just to get rid of the volume pedal now, bc it takes up that much space.
Yes indeed.
I have discovered that simply mentioning some of the things that you’re looking for on this forum can lead to unexpected and wonderful results 😉
I’ve talked to Eric about a 14-fret 00 – he has twice pointed to Schoenbergs at $13k, and both of the ones he has had have fit that profile. If I *have* to spend that much, I’m going to think hard about it.
I’m currently hunting a 14-fret 00 cutaway with OM-ish neck and Reverb pings me daily, often with 00-16C (12=fret) models, because their search algorithms and filters are, ahh, questionable.
There aren’t many 14-fret cutaway 00s made, and the last one I saw – and let slip through my fingers – was a Schoenberg two christmases ago. Great price, should have bought it. And they just barely exist; there’s not that much of a market, I guess.
If SCGC made one I would be right at the front of the line.
Heh. I have my CC numbers etc memorized.
It takes MAJOR willpower to not actually buy stuff on Reverb.
And right now, I’m looking at a TS9. And, doG help me, a real Klon Centaur, at that kind of price…..not that I need it, either.
Soon some of my gear will be on Reverb to tempt others and gain space in the music room. 🙂

This week, during our Thursday jam, the Sesame Street theme came up (we had a novice human in the room who really really really really really wanted to sing it).
Fifteen minutes, several extended solos, and a very satisfied six-year-old singer-dancer-star-of-the-show later, we had a new song in the repertoire….I don’t think anyone had expected to play that in this lifetime. 🙂

February 8, 2020 at 6:23 am in reply to: Santa Cruz Coffee Break Lunch with Richard Hoover #7 Guitar tops part 1 #3757Excellent podcast as always. I liked where Richard noted that he likes smaller guitars – it absolutely shows up in the wonderful tone and feel of the smaller instruments!
Yikes…..otoh, if it works, it’d be worth it. The EB VPjr I have is good but it’s HUGE. I want to be able to carry the entirety of my live kit in the case (for events where I’m not carrying and amp or PA).
They have a lot of thump in the bass for alternating-bass fingerpicking.
