Wonderful podcast, so much to sift through. I’m a big fan of Eric’s playing, and he seems a genuine and gracious guy.
Could we get Eric to do a podcast in the future where he fields some of our recording and mixing questions? I’d definitely be up for him to share more of his knowledge with us.
I’m less than 3 hours from Santa Cruz, looking forward to hearing more updates on this! I’d love to be able to make it!

Great episode, always love hearing from Richard. Nice to get a proper introduction to Will. Very much appreciated Richard’s kind words and tribute to Carolyn, she was an amazing part of my SCGC experience when I visited the shop to order my custom 00. However, I have to say that I enjoy her music as well and hope to catch a show with her Combo soon.
What a joy Carolyn was to work with, her heart, humor and knowledge will be dearly missed. Fortunately I live in Northern California so I’ll be able to catch her and Gerard at a Combo/Poi Rogers show in the not too distant future!
Thanks. Yes, you may be right, I may in fact be waxing it too often. I do treat my SCGC 00 with a great deal of loving care as it is an amazing instrument and likely to be the only SCGC I’ll ever be able to have made… barbering is good trade but not good enough to be a collector of fine instruments. 🙂
I don’t play with too much aggression but I do split my time 50/50 between strumming and fingerpicking. Carolyn mentioned another recommended product, but I like the “leather” scent of the SCGC wax. It was funny, when I went to tour and design my guitar I just brought some beard wax to Richard as a gift because I thought he might like the woodsy scent. He, of course, being so generous couldn’t let me leave empty handed. : )
