As always, a wonderful episode with Richard. He thinks so deeply about all things related to guitar making, thankful he shares his wisdom with us and that you guys are there to record it.
Cool, thanks for weighing in.
I’ve been doing a lot of YouTube viewing regarding BlueChip picks. I think there may be something to them, curious to try on out.
Currently I am playing a .88 ProTone from Dunlop and I like it quite a bit, nice sound and feel. However, like most guitarists I’m always looking to try something new. Anyone care to share what their favorite BlueChip pick model is?
Yep, thanks. Such a fun album, love Carolyn’s clever wordplay in the lyrics.
Thanks, great tips!
Great to have your comment, appreciate it. Generally SCGC will do a satin finish on the back of the neck and gloss finish on the top and body, so that may be what you’re noticing.
As for acidic sweat, I don’t happen to have that particular affliction, but one of my close friends does. He actually has his guitar strings get a dark crust on them, which I didn’t even know was possible! : )
Thank you for your thoughts, especially the one about starting with a small, inconspicuous area.
Thanks, I’ll look forward to that podcast… number 100 coming up soon!
April 19, 2023 at 5:47 pm in reply to: Santa Cruz Coffee Break #55 Zoomin with Rhett Henry Baxter and Radio Ranch #8155Thank you for introducing me to an artist that was previously unknown to me.
A request: I would love to have an episode with Carolyn and Gerard to catch up and see how things are going with the Combo and Poi Rogers.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the suggestion, I will definitely give it a look!
Thank you for sharing your experience and set-up. I agree with you, I am looking for the least invasive option possible.
Thank you for mentioning JJB, I am not familiar with the company but the product looks very compelling. It is especially helpful to know that you have them in a number of your guitars.
Thank you for the feedback… no pun intended. : ). I too would prefer to use a microphone when possible. I sometimes find myself in a situation of playing with a full band (drums, bass, electric guitars) and, of course, need a way to let my SCGC be heard. I suppose I could play my Tele in the band situations, but I have a deep, abiding love of my 00 and have used it to write all of my original songs so I’d like to have it be my performing partner as well.
Thanks for the info and advice, I appreciate it. Overall, I really love the SCGC low tension strings on my 00… but as with all guitarists I’m also always looking to tinker. : )
Wonderful album. I hope they may do a West Coast tour behind it.
