Missing Tomi and Mad Dog.
I have had K&K in 2 guitars. No problems at all. Butch Boswell told me I would get better sound with the Baggs Anthem in my SCGC Dread Cutaway
The band members preferred the sound of the K&K.
Neither system affected the unamplified sound of the guitars.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>However, the Duncan MagMike I put in the Weissenborn has a profound effect on the top.

That video of Joseph has ne playing my 1982 Dread Cutaway in DADGAD.
Still have the guitar.
Brazilian with Sitka top.
I may have typed it as STRING50, leaving out the final S.
I ordered a Baritone and DADGAD set.

I have a guitar that never had a pickguard. The top is quite worn in that spot. Doesn’t seem to hurt the sound or integrity of the top.
It’s your choice.
My 1982 Dread Cutaway came with a clear pickguard. 10 years ago, SCGC replaced it with another clear pickguard.
The old one showed lots of wear and tear.
<p style=”text-align: center;”>I’m leaning towards Cuban Mahogany.

May 14, 2026 at 5:28 pm in reply to: Dreadnought Comparison Video – Vintage Artist and Tony Rice #9399I was most pleased with the sound of the 12 fret slot head I owned. I prefer the sound of Mahogany.
Thanks.
I’ll keep a lookout on Instagram.
Any news about this?
When I got my first OM, a Cruz, the songs started to flow.
I contacted Tim In SLO. He commissioned his Dread Cutaway about the same time I did. His was the Florentine Cutaway, mine Venetian. As far as I know, it was the first Florentine. The second was the one Jerry Garcia played on the cover of Frets Magazine.
That guitar was sold by Amazing GraceMus8c in San Anselmo. The owner still remembers that guitar.
