I bought a T shirt and a Charmed Life pick. When I handed him a 50 dollar bill he said he doesn’t take cash because he doesn’t want to get robbed. I added a fiver and suggested he get something for the wife on his way home.
Larry Sokolow is the owner and guitar lover. He has a well played and loved OM/PW. He decided to open a SoCal shop to spread the Cruz Love.
He has multiple OMs and an F. The OM Grand has the luscious Steinway sound on the low strings. The F and brand new Walnut/Euro Spruce OM are exquisite.
The space has a stage for Open Mics and performance. Its a sweet spot and Larry is wonderful.

Over the years I’ve had plenty of odd ball amplifiers. I’ve kept the GK and Hughes and Kettner BluesMaster.

I spoke to Tom Walzem yesterday.
Put him on the list. Svea is ready.
Sounds good. I’ll see if I can get Svea and Gretchen to make it. Gretchen has a 000 and Svea had one of the Steve Swan 1942 Dreads.
The truck is repaired. The radiator cap failed. Getting it this Saturday.
I’m back in the game.
Due to my truck overheating while leaving Lake Tahoe and now sitting in an auto shop parking lot for the next week, I’m not going to Santa Cruz this month. 0nce the truck is examined and the estimates come on for repairs, I’ll be returning to Tahoe to drive it home or declare it junk.
I’m thinking mid August.
I have the Shubb that is pretty much an affordable version of the Elliot.
It fits my OM neck better than the Dread. On the D it never goes beyond the second fret because it’s used for bluegrass and fiddle tunes.
you and me so far
it has occurred to me that Tad may have more than Dig Dog.
Dig Dog better be there. He’s had more Cruz boxes than the rest of us put together
I’m gearing up to visit Sylvan and play everything in the store.
Again.
OM continues to be my favorite Cruz. In 1999 I found a plain Jane Mahogany and Adirondack model that was the finest SCGC I ever heard. I had to sell it for bathroom repairs. Broke my heart.
I’ve played many Cruz OMs since then, but that one was special.
Bolinas. I’ve logged many hours there 20 years ago.
