Very nice of you to say ehsussman. Sometimes I’m scared to play it!
Here you go! My son found this video after we consulted with the music store my friend bought the guitar from and mentioned that he thought is was a NAMM guitar. I had only ever found the Cowboy Poet Deluxe in my searches. This is the same guitar as mine – with a pick guard. Mr. Hoover explains some more about it and the top is Adirondack spruce.
That’s pretty awesome to hear dwarfrat!
This appears to be the one! Sorry every one.
Yikes – that’s not the video I watched. Will lan OP please remove that video?
Well what a great catch Martijn.
Video showing Joseph adding this at the end.
This part here – Could someone tell me what this bit of writing means and is all about?

Thank you Paul – strings arrived yesterday and they are indeed on the Cowboy Poet already. Tuned up and they play very nicely right out of the package.
Now the package.. well it’s not as intuitive as some strings, but I did get it all sorted out and they sound very nice for day 1!

It worked for me too. I’ll try them out. Still expensive at $12.00 each, but I’ve read good reviews.
Well perhaps leave it be – Since it’s stained, it may be more apparent than a more natural finish. Time will be the guide!
Oh man – what a beautiful top on your guitar. And I suppose you are right – a badge of honor it may be then. At my age, it’s probably going to belong to the son, that badge, but he’d probably be proud!
I love the look of no pickguard, but I don’t want a hole in the guitar eventually either like Trigger, for example.
If I only was a fingerpicker, I’d for sure never put one on this. And you may be right about that resonation, icenine suggested that if you do put one on, make sure it doesn’t cause residual vibrations.
Hello icenine, and thank you for the input. I am in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The SCGC website lists Stevie’s as the dealer in the area. I could call them.
Thank you DR – I looked at some examples and you may be spot on!
