That is quite a bit less than I expected when compared to Martin Monels that I occasionally string up. They are listed at 184.8. The SCGC mediums do feel better. Would love to see them in a monel version. Pushy, pushy…sorry 😉
Peter, thanks for confirming that, works for my ’90 TR std.
Best, Walter

I am also an Inca user. I have the table saw with the sliding horizontal mortising table as well as the small bandsaw. I purchased them from Garrett Wade in the late 70’s. They are both such a pleasure to use due to their precision and construction. I have always regretted that I was not able to purchase the jointer/planer at the time, due the cost.

I just watched the video of Matt playing this beauty. Matt plays fingerstyle using the entire fretboard. This FS has a very sweet harp-like tone. A few measures of Matt’s playing almost sounded harpsichord-like, but with warmer overtones presented. Please understand that these impressions were from watching on my smartphone, so I can only imagine how much more will be appreciated on a proper system. Of course, the true measure of this fine instrument will be experienced in person by the player and those in the room!
Peace,
Walter
I still treasure my Elliot Tony Rice capo. I asked them to number mine to match the serial number on my SCÂ TR’90. They did.

Thought that would be a sensitive subject for you Richard.

While delving a bit deeper into the issue, specifically the Bela Fleck article, I noticed a detail that I had overlooked the first time through. The detailed photo of Bela’s new banjo head caught my attention. The one showing the strings crossing the bridge down to the tailpiece. The photo is reversed as if it is a left-handed banjo. I understand that photos are often reversed for artistic reasons during the layout, however, this publication is dedicated to fretboards. It’s hard to look at the pic without wincing a bit. My apology if I am coming across as too critical, but as an amateur luthier, I relish the details of the various instrument builds accompanied by the related photos.
Tell me I’m off base and I will accept that. My morning rant, now back to work. 😉
Walter
Great idea, (of course).

Peter, yes, I recall your article about Bob Shane’s D-28. It was a very cool, informative, firsthand look into that iconic instrument and the man behind it. Thanks again for that!
Walter
I agree Hank and Richard. I was looking for something more related to fretboards. Hmmm.
Hank,
Hope it wasn’t assembled with hot hide glue 😉

Wonderful down to earth chat with a humble, very talented musical artist!
Thanks, as always, Richard and Tad for this treat.
Walter
Truly humbling, makes me feel so inept, but I’ll just have to keep doin’ it my way. Keep it in perspective and enjoy their awesome talents!
