Merry Christmas, Happy New Year all,
I hope you have all been well. I’ve been busy… 🙂
On Monday (22 December) my family and I trundled off to the Conservatory, absconded with the stage, and spent a couple of hours making a video.
No guitars were harmed in the recording of this video… Or indeed used. Still, one could say that I play a little guitar. That is to say, my influences are not mandolin players. They’re guitar players. And all I have ever really wanted to be was a good guitar player.
However, I have had more success mastering the shorter scale length and more regular intervals of the mandolin. After I fully committed to mandolin, I found the 5 string electric mandolin. And then a hollow body 5 string electric mandolin with a longer than usual (15″) scale length. I’m home as it were.
So I think even if non-guitar music performance videos put you off, you will proabably enjoy this one.
