The fact tat I can’t focus on one instrument may be my biggest obstacle to true instrumental prowess.
Today I was thinking that it’s time to cut some things loose in order to focus. So I picked up my two acoustic guitars, the SCGC custom dread and the Rainsong OM-1000 to see which one would go.
Well, that idea just died on the vine. <eyeroll>
The SCGC has amazing tone despite its dead strings. Long Black Veil, Bury Me Beneath the Willow, and Dan Fogelburg’s “Morning Sky” got played for the first time in years.
The Rainsong is so comfortable to play, very much like an electric. I tried out Midnight Blue and Contemplation as well as Whiskey Before Breakfast.
Damn it. Can’t sell ’em.
I’ll probably let go of my Fender FM-988 (8 string emando), my Epiphone Mandobird, and my Weber Alder #2 mandola before the guitars leave the house permanently.
Guess I’ll have to be happy as a jack of all trades (master of none). 😉
