I recently bought a 2011 1934D customized which among many of the customizations was an old growth mahogany back. In my research of the instrument Santa Cruz provided a spec sheet which gave a spec from the 1934D (which is the Brazilian version) which leads me to believe the 1934D mahogany was not yet available in 2011. Just was hoping to get some info on the evolution of the model if available. I’ll add that this is the most amazing dred I’ve ever owned and played including vintage and new custom Martin d-18s!! Thanks in advance on any info or experience shared about with this model.

Welcome, would you mind posting a pic? We have an upcoming podcast with Richard and we will be sure to ask for you, Hank has a 34D as well, maybe he’ll chime in

This is my new-to-me 2011 Santa Cruz 1934D custom with a southern bell finish. I haven’t picked up any other guitar since she arrived.

Here is one of a few reviews of the guitar I found from its previous journeys. This one is my favorite

Podcast #26 is with Ciosi, he’s in Italy with a 34D like yours, he was either a winner or finalist at Winfield, I think 2016, it’s in the podcast, if you friend him on Facebook. You’re in for a treat
