Anyone use instruments with P90s (real single-coil P90s) here?

If so, how do you keep them from buzzing?

I have an instrument that has them and it’s as shielded as it can be – conductive paint in the cavities, shielded control cavity, etc – but it’s very sensitive to background hum.

Trying to avoid swapping them for hum-cancelling P90s, which, while quiet, don’t sound as good IMHO.

          Hey Matt

You could sink about 200 ft of cooper into your yard like TESLA then wrap your house in cooper, I bet the hum goes away. It’s a p90, it hums in a beautiful way, no way I know other than the above

Yup. I kinda figured.  Rick Turner might have spells to banish the hum, but beyond that, it’s just gonna make noise, I guess.

I had a ‘59 Les Paul Special with Soap Bars. It had no hum, only great tone. My ‘58 3/4 size Les Paul Jr. is a different story. The hum is omnipresent. I just live with it.

Regarding P90s, I have a pair of Duncans I took out of my PRS.

                  Anybody want them?
