Does anybody feel this leather strap adaptor for a headstock would perhaps mute the strings as it’s certainly touching them.

IMHO…..Put a strap button in the proper place and play the Hell out of it ….sitting or standing !

the lengths of the strings behind the nut add a little bit to the harmonic overtones coming out of the guitar. And sometimes that’s not a good thing.
I think this is a case of “If you like, do it. If you don’t, change it.”

I’d play it that way for a while – it changes the way the guitar hangs, it’s center of gravity so-to-speak. You can always add a strap button later. I mean, it looks like you’ve already got it –
You might also try a “Neck-Up” – it’s another really nice way to hold the guitar, but it only works when you’re seated –

Actually the service manager doesn’t recommend using the headstock as it puts too much stress on the neck.
