Moon spruce top with mahogany B/Ss ?

Hello, everyone. Nice to be back on the SCGC forum!

Just wondering if anybody has a guitar as described in the subject line. Is it a good pairing? I’m planning on getting a mahogany H in 2018 and wonder if moon spruce is worth the up charge.

Backstory is that I want a mahog “twin” for a custom Martin I have, alpine spruce on cocobolo. A moon spruce top would be a close approximation of alpine, I think.

No idea about the tonal differences between “moon” spruce and their normal top-of-the-line european spruces, but if Richard is recommending it, its the way I’d go –
