Hi friends! Just joined and I am looking forward to participating here. My name is Larry, and I just opened a guitar shop in Orange County, CA. My entry into excellent guitars (from the world of mediocre ones!) was with a Santa Cruz guitar. Several years ago, on my 50th birthday and after having a series of deaths in the family, I decided that buying myself a really good acoustic guitar would be good therapy. I took the day off, drove up to Los Angeles, went to all of the shops that carry high end instruments, and played dozens and dozens from all of the boutique and established brands. By far the best instrument, and really the only one that spoke to me that day, was a Santa Cruz OM Grand.
Fast forward to now, after an injury ended my previous career (as a physical therapist), and I have a shop that carries, among others, Santa Cruz guitars. My wife Debbie and I had a wonderful visit on Monday this week with Richard and Will at SCGC – they couldn’t have been more welcoming, warm and generous with their time.
I look forward to interacting with and meeting more of you folks.
