        Greetings Forum Members,

We are going to make some changes to the Forum. We invite your comments before we do this next Thursday, March 13th.

We are going to keep three sections: General, which we will change the name of to Community, Ask SCGC and Podcasts. We will be deleting all others since there is no activity on them.

We invite your comments, please leave them in this post.

Sounds good. Love the podcasts archive. Thank you for retaining all of the Coffee Break podcasts!

the idea of paring the forum categories is just fine, to me.  as to the scarcity of participation since the original site went away – along with its HUGE amount of great information AND regular participants: the exact same thing occured on the Collings forum, when it came back after totally disappearing about the same time, again data and all; even less participation there compared to here. the martin forum, on the other hand flourishes… of course Brand M is a marketing company first and foremost. nevertheless, just can’t figure it out… Bill Collings (rip) and Richard Hoover – actual luthiers, innovators, refiners.  I believe for both men, satisfying a never-ending curiousity and demanding the highest quality of tone and workmanship were the drivers, not endlessly coming up with gimmicks. been a puzzle ever since this “new” forum appeared.

Richard, given the modest size of this community and volume of participation, the proposal makes sense to me. Deleting other forums vs. just having archives that are readable is worth consideration. People may find the historic forum information of value.

I think it’s a great idea, so long as the contents are moved and not deleted.

Also, small recommendation; I would name the main section “general” rather than community. Community sections of forums are usually social/get-together sections. Main discussion sections are usually called general, or something along those lines.

Thanks All, we don’t have to delete forums, we can just close them and save the information. I appreciate your feedback, any other comments are always welcome.

On a different note, we are actually having new members sign up, a couple a week. I welcome them all and hope for a more active place to connect.

                      Stay tuned

I think the difference between here, Collings forum, and UMGF  is that UMGF is much broader in scope. All brands, all styles, a very diversified membership, etc.

                                Daniel,

You did, I tried as well, maybe it was too far down the page. I can reopen at any time if there are requests, thanks for being here
