It’s going to be natural. Like this H/13, which was my inspiration.

Natural finish will be awesome. Let the honesty of the wood do the talkin’. No need for eyeshadow or lipstick for that pretty lady.

Well, my H/13 arrived yesterday and it is magnificent in every way. It’s not often I bond with an instrument in 24 hours, but it does happen on occasion – and this is one of those occasions. This is my second attempt buying an H/13. I bought an H/13 off the shelf a few years ago, but I was never completely happy with it when I used a pick. After several conversations with Carolyn, I was convinced she understood what I was looking for and tried again. Love it! Oh yeah, Sunburst finish instead of Natural.

So what did you do different this time to have more pick friendly?

I couldn’t tell you. I was focused on the target outcome and left the building to them. I provided a verbal description and videos demonstrating what I liked and they did the rest. Since I had the original serial number, they could check their notes on build specifics. The obvious changes were hide glue and Italian top compared to non hide glue and Sitka top. How they carve bracing is nothing I know about. I’m thrilled with the outcome.

After owning a few Euro spruce guitars and red spruce, Euro is my favorite… especially with mahog.
That guitar is gorgeous and just reeks of ‘play me’. congratulations Paul.
best wishes, bert
