My first Santa Cruz was an OMPW I bought new about 2004. It’s been wonderful but recently the bridge began lifting out on the end of the bass side. It’s now at a trusted luthier’s shop and I’m confident that all will be fine. I just wonder WHY.  There has been no string tension or humidity issues. Anyone else had this occur? Gee, the bridge on my ‘33 Gibson L-OO is fine.

Hard to say. I have a Cfox that the bridge is coming up as well, I feel it’s like a brake job on the car, it’s not normal but it’s not a bad thing, this is a bad thing

Luthier says sometimes bridges lift for no apparent reason and the instrument in general is in great shape. He will remove the bridge and completely reglue it.

Guitars have allot of moving parts. Between temperature movement and humidity changes they are always expanding and contracting. In actuality it’s amazing how they stay together so well for as long as they do.
