        Greetings all,

I have confirmed that SCGC is fully behind the Forum and will work on issues that we are facing. I’m pretty excited about this.

In regards to the “Just Shipped Section”. As a professional photographer for over 30 years I can comment on this. Photographing a guitar is like trying to photo 3 1/2 foot tall fork. The reflections all need to be eliminated, this requires floor space of between 150-200 square feet. A special room needs to be built, and the walls, floor, and ceiling need to be covered in black light-absorbing material. It can take up to a day to take document one guitar. Time consuming, space consuming and expensive to do it right. In my opinion, I’d rather see the curtrent marketing programs SCGC is involved in, although I’m not a fan, their Instagram and Facebook page are tearing it up. The new web page is much easier to use and is up to date with the technical aspects of running a page.

These are my personal feelings, and I’m thrilled that they are going to continue the forum. I hope we all use it more.

as much as i sympathize – times are TOUGH in this business, i disagree on the curent marketing program (of that which i’m aware) compared to what SCGC did historically. i think it’s sterile as i said in the earlier post, another thread. the site used to be unique, compared to every other great builder. it gave us the inside look at what they are currently doing.  the history and relationships… worth it’s weight in gold!  regarding photography, they already had access to the setup, etc…  now if it’s a staffing question, then that is clearly SCGC’s business and decision. and i certainly defer there.:)

i say all of this only in comparison to the old website which was so informative, up-to-date always.  Now, if the facebook page could give those updates, that would be great.  Richard is fabulous – first as a human being and humanitarian; and then as a luthier, manager, mentor, teacher, friend – it goes on and on.  but how many times can you say “what’s our secret?” on facebook.  Let’s see the beautiful, unique work as much as possible.
