The photos on the left look like a SCGC instrument.  The headstock has SCGC logo, and the body sticker shows the model and number of the instrument.

The photos on the right show a different ukulele, with the words “Santa Cruz” on the headstock, and a different body sticker.

I thought SCGC did a single batch of ukuleles.  Did they make a change during production?  Or is the one with Santa Cruz on the headstock some other manufacturer?

            Hi David,

I’ll get this question to SCGC., From what I can tell and know of the history, the one on the right is legit, the left one looks like a fake. There have been several fakes spotted. Can I inquire as to where that one on the right is located?

SCGC ukes are highly prized and seldom come up for sale. If you are selling, you can leave a note here, and I can put you in touch with some prospective buyers

They both look legit from the pics you put up, but I have not seen the label that you show on the one on the right. And if there is no serial number on it, I’d be highly suspect –  but I think they have done a few runs of ukes, once mine is #109, and it has the old logo, so I would not be surprised to see some made with the new logo – but again, I’m quite sure they would have a serial number.
