        I’m just curious – I’m a new owner of a lovely sunburst OM Grand, and did my first string change (mostly just to try different strings, and see how they sound).

        I found that the ebony bridge pins were slotted.  It surprised me, as the bridge appears to be cut for unslotted bridge pins.  What are the dimensions of the bridge pins?  I should have used the micrometer when I had the pins out, but I was wondering if I could replace them with these ebony unslotted bridge pins from StewMac.  What do you think, will they fit?

              Are you the original owner? You can simply install the pins with the slots to the back.

                  Yes, I’m the original owner.  I’m now led to understand that the bridges are half-slotted – that is, the bridge and the pins are both slotted to accommodate the width of each string.
