I was hoping someone could tell me when the hot hide glue (HHG) custom option became available for Santa Cruz. I have purchesed several used Santa Cruz guitars over the past year and I noticed that the majority of guitars I found with HHG happened to be made after 2015 or so. Most of the others I have looked at that were made in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s have not had that feature ( Im not sure if that is coincidence or if they were less prevalent). Im not sure if thats because it wasnt an advertised option, if they were all constructed that way or if the use of HHG wasnt introduced in the manufacture of SC guitars of until later? Any info or history would be appreciated. Thank you!

hot hide glue was introduced (or reintroduced?) when Dan Roberts was managing production. for instance, Tony’s 2007 (my avatar here – commemorating my owning it) was built with it (top and braces).  i ordered two guitars using it in 2008.

I’d love to hear more details about this. I’m a big believer in hide glue, having some many repairs using it.
