“SCGC is privy to a proprietary seasoning procedure that captures the colorful golden chocolate richness of this Hawaiian national treasure.”

I have seen this claim in several listings across the web over the years and was always curious what this ‘procedure’ might entail. The latest one I found is in an Eddie’s Guitars listing. (https://eddiesguitars.com/product/acoustic/acoustic-guitar-categories/acoustic-electric-guitars/santa-cruz-baritone-professional-d-model/)

I am not necessarily asking for someone to divulge this proprietary seasoning process but I am certainly curious what might be. I imagine it might have to do with some oxidation process that brings out the color before the finish goes on? I searched for this question here but didn’t see it. My apologies if it’s already been asked before.

          Hey Brad,

welcome.   There are several podcasts with Richard Hoover where he talks about it, maybe we can get a deeper dive

Ah, that figures. I have not yet explored all the podcasts quite yet. I will get to listening!

            Thank you
