Single subject fora are older forms of online communities than Facebook, Twitter, Discord, etc.  They require more commitment to the subject than than the newer forms.

Brand selective guitar forums for high end brands like Collings and SCGC double down on the “inconvenience” that forums in general suffer from.

Plus, in my experience only about 10% of the members of any given forum -new or “old”- actively participate.

And so we have a quiet forum.  🙂

Less than 30 years ago we got news/updates less than 5 times a day on average.  We didn’t expect constant updates.  Now we want to see something new EVERY time we fire up the computer.  And on top of that we have FOMO!

upshot: Don’t look for updates here every time you turn on the computer.  Relax into the fact that we DON’T share everything.  Go play your amazing guitar!  🙂

              Well said Daniel.

Some of us will always be around.

I have been following your advice Daniel and playing “The Ramuda”.

I have had an issue with some nerve damage from an old injury that affected my left hand and arm.

Having to work a little harder to play  Barre chords and chord changes are not as quick. my grip is still strong but fingers are  a bit numb.

But……Playing the SC breed  still brings a smile .

Being a Cruz owner for 41 years, I’ve seen a few SCGC forums die and be reborn.

Index and Daniel keep this one free from the scam and bot attacks hat killed the others.

If the Forum were to connect with Instagram, there might be more traffic.

Daniel, that’s the best idea I’ve heard as to what happened to both the SCGC and Collings fora since both of the original ones were “lost” (about at the same time!) and had to be born anew from the ground up,  sadly without the participation of some of the diehard original hardcore members. Tremendous technical content was lost on both: for SCGC, some great historical contributions from the likes of Richard, Steve Swan and Dan Roberts (although facebook is indeed where Dan has been flourishing with his own instruments); on the old Collings forum, there were great back-and-fourths between the likes of “outsiders” John Arnold, Jim Merrill, Raymond Morin, John Griffin, Jim Baggett and one holdover, Frank Sanns. for me, the facebook format doesn’t do it.:)
