Hi, thank you for accepting me to the forum. I am currently weighing up which SC Dreadnought to buy over here in the UK. I am buying used and there is not a steady supply as in the US. The two guitars i have narrowed down to are the Brad Paisley/Rosewood and the standard D Mahogany. I know that both guitars will excel at flat picking and strumming chords, though i also fingerpick with my bare fingers. My question to the forum is; what are the pro
s and cons of each guitar for fingerpicking, if any. I have had smaller bodied guitars before but prefer the D size and this will be my only guitar as it is one in one out. Thay is why i want a do it all guitar. Thank you for any replies. Steve. -

The standard Ds usually have a 1-11/16”neck, but the Paisley has the more modern 1-¾”. I would think the wider neck would be desirable, and maybe even wider spacing at the saddle. I know they’ve made them, but I don’t think you’d find those specs on most of them. But thats a personal call.
But rosewood vs mahogany? Thats even more personal. I have only been able to solve that by having one of each – actually, to be honest, a few of each. But I don’t recommend going that route –
