        Greetings Forum Members,

Well, we had so much fun the first time, we did it again. John Stubbings graciously spent some time with us this week. We’d like the Forum to get first crack at his new iPad book or get a copy of the few remaining “The Devil is in it”, check it out here sales@orpharionpress.com

We got into a great discussion of how folk music and the guitar evolved in England, it’s a fantastic discussion, not what you expect. Here’s the YouTube link

        Soundcloud and Apple Podcasts   https://soundcloud.com/rnewman-1/santa-cruz-coffee-break-47-zoomin-with-john-stubbings

Here are links to some of the references in the Podcast

The Rolling Stones on Shindig in 1965 with Howlin’ Wolf as their warm-up act.

        More Howlin’ Wolf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTDjD_UdJYs

Black Music in Europe: A Hidden History    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09l02hv

Low Light and Blue Smoke, filmed in Belgium in 1956 and broadcast on Scottish TV in early 1958, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAzCQcP-GTE

We home you enjoy this, it’s a great listen for a Sunday

Just finished …… IMHO this was the most enjoyable ,eclectic, entertaining conversation between 3 gentlemen who’s histrory with Santa Cruz Guitars , the American flat top guitar and our combined countries musical incubator that I have ever heard.

Just Wonderful…… A personal note about John. I purchased a “Mono” version of TDIII and when I emailed the order we started writing each other on a bit of a regular basis. At that time he was very early into the outlining of “The Guitar Detective”. and asked my opinion of some of his thoughts about the style and amount of copies he shoud release.

I told him that I felt conflicted in that I thought everybody shoud be able to enjoy the story….But that I was selfish enough to want own the 2nd copy of a very limited edition of the “color” version. I’m pleased to say he agreed.

I would also like to tell Y’all that John provided a “get well” inspirational copy of  “The Devil Is In It” to a great friend of mine……..John is a truly nice man.
