Let’s keep them in our thoughts.  It’s going to be a rough patch, looks like.

Hoping you’re safe & dry in FL; that storm is dropping a lot of rain.

The Army Corp of Engineers used to oversee the levy system along the Miss River all thru southern Louisiana (don’t know about today). In the early 80s, while my engineering work had me located in the New Orleans area for 3yrs.  Each time we met with the Army Engineers they talked about their worries of the levy system not being able to stand a major hurricane. I got busy and was able to work out a transfer to Charlotte and never looked back, but….

made some great friends during that time plus I was also in Army Basic Training at Ft Jackson with about 40-50 guys from Louisiana. Always loved the people of Louisiana and my thoughts over the past few days have been very sad and yet the ever present reality…. the future at sea level in that area is not as great as the food and music.

I can still picture Louis Armstrong and the Allstars playing in the French Quarter. My heart goes out to the LA/MS delta. bert
