I just got off the phone with a childhood friend.

His Grandson was one of the 13 who died today.

My friend and I played Little League together…. We Climbed together…we skied together…..We played guitars together.

His Grandson was the pride of his life.

I ask that Y’all pick up a guitar and play “Amazing Grace”…… Please.

          Hank,

Thank you, we all bleed today. These Hero’s died today helping over 102,000 people. The died in service trying to help. They were the best of America, the best of humanity. I’ll play Amazing Grace with my amp on 10, f’ the neighbors. It’s a hard and dark day, in the darkest hours when we don’t understand the world, love is the answer

Will do . I’ll play that tonight on my Cruz, but will be hearing the bagpipes in my mind…with tears in my eyes.

It’s a terrible price we ask of the few to try and defend the lives and protect choice for the many. Prayers to those who gave all, and condolences for those who loved them. Amazing Grace it is –

A terrible tragedy Hank. Long ago I went to see Edwin Starr, during the Vietnam War, his song was a big hit… it was called ‘War’….. what is it good for, absolutely nothing.

So very sorry to hear about your buddy’s grandson. Just listened to the Blind Boys of Alabama’s version of ‘Amazing Grace’.  bert

I gave it a go using an arrangement I worked out and with which I am mildly happy.  I hope you like it.

Peace to all, shalom, Shalom aleichem, As-salamu alaykum

I should mention that it was recordeed on my iPhone 8 with no external equipment, outside about 15 feet from the road, and in a bit of a breeze.  So the sound quality will reflect that.

I used my “player’s grade (now)” SCGC dreadnought SN D3501 which desperately needs new strings.

                                🙂
