        This picture showed up on Dee’s Facebook page today as a memory.

        This was Alex Austin and me at his home near St Augustine.

        I know all you older Forum members will remember Alex with fondness.

        I think he’s playing his SCGC VS and I’m playing the  SCGC Da-1 ( the guitar that introduced me to SCGC).

        I’m sure he is saying to me “Hank …You HAVE to learn Travis Picking “…… I never have.

        Just a note : Alex was dying of “The Big C” and Had a Chemo port in when this picture was taken…..Alex NEVER , EVER QUIT.

          It may not be the VS….VJ maybe ?   I can’t remember.

            The guitar sure looks like a OM/PW  based on spec’s and the OM tear drop pick guard

            Alex was a sweetheart of a guy. Kind, thoughtful and a wonderful singer /songwriter always a positive vibe and presence here on the SCGPF

              Pretty guitar. He was a good person.
