Yesterday I was in a reflective mood, today was approaching.

So I decided to play a bunch of songs and choose one of the Ramuda and one song that go together well.

Sooo….Then I decided to ride the full Ramuda and match each one to a song….

        Matches thus far :

The “Tree”/Euro OM : “Sweet Melissa”

The Otis Taylor H-13 Madi/Italian :  “St. James Infirmary ”

        Three more to work out today……My Revelation/reflection ?? ?

“I’m Right Where I’m Supposed To Be “…..

Last night, spent 4+ hours on the OM during the weekly work jam.  Here’s what I can remember of what we played.  People kept calling tunes and we kept going for it one after the other.  Covered a fair bit of ground and spent a lot of time laughing about “we played this after that?”

Jardin d’Hiver – Keren Ann, amazing

Autumn Leaves in French and English

                One Note Samba

This Masquerade – my god, Leon Russell could write

                Stormy Monday

                Fancy C blues

Seven Steps to Heaven – Miles

Just once in a very blue moon – Nancy Griffith

My baby wrote me a letter – Joe Cocker

Your Feets Too Big – Fats Waller

                Ain’t Misbehavin’

                Scarlet Begonias

                Pretzel Logic

                The Last Mall (Steely Dan)

                Sweet Child ‘o Mine

                St James Infirmary

                Rocky Mountain Way

                  Yesterday is behind….

Well the THE MARTIN….Matched with : Croce, Goodman, Buffett, The Byrds.

I guess 27 years of aged EIR/Sitka , thousands of hours of playing/holding/traveling……….makes for an old friend who has a great voice…..a voice that brings back lots of memories,

Reflections /Revelations : I have a fine Ramuda of guitars in both voice and  visual……… and I’m starting to get the hang of  playing them……I can begin to bring out their individuality.

REALIZATION : I still have so much to learn…….compared to Y’All.

The feeling of having a lot to learn never goes away.

It’s the travel not the destination that makes us.

                      🙂
