    I think that’d be lovely – although using the paua everywhere might be too much of a good thing.  I wonder whether SCGC could do the deco inlays in a combination of paua and white MOP?  That’d be colorful and eye-catching.

    Zorro, because of the CITES ban, it’s dangerous to carry *any* rosewood instrument across transnational borders.  Since most customs inspectors really don’t have the training to tell braz from indian from coco from madrose, inappropriate seizures happen more than they should.  I have an instrument I would like to deliver to its *real* owner but I’m afraid to get it there bc it has a braz head plate.

    Though in terms of braz carved instruments, though, Kim Walker did one – it’s apparently quite an instrument:
