Tried to video record a couple of original tunes on my 42BGD this afternoon.  I just don't have the lungs right now.  Range is back, but the breath is not.  Sad

Maybe it'll be back in a couple of days.  (Geez I hope so, I have a couple of gigs coming up soon!)

Ok - you guys have got to see these two guys from Greece flatpicking up a storm - these guys are really good!  Yiasou!!!

Kostas is playing an SCGC Ron Block custom  Yiannis is playing a 1951 D28 (he has a collection of really sweet vintage guitars)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbz1Wgs2D7s

I posted it as a favorite on the SCGC YouTube channel

And Douglas Adams himself. Not least because he owned a custom Santa Cruz.

Surf,
Funny you should mention it!  Thirty seconds of that video is in consideration, along with 10 or 11 others, for a spot opening for Phil Vassar here at the Gallo Arts Center in Modesto CA.

You all can help by going to the above link, registering (I know, I know, pain in the butt), and voting for me.  Cheesy

No pressure, vote if you like.  And Thanks! if you do!

If you get a white screen, try reloading the page.
If that doesn't work, try this URL http://modbee.upickem.net/engine/Welcome.aspx?contestid=15095

Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I added two versions of "Long Black Veil" to my channel.  The first (older) is an one-angle video using the mic on the camera.  The second was edited from the recording session with three camera angles and includes the mandolin tracks I laid down too.

New video uploaded to my YouTube page.
It's an original song called "Wounded Knee"  It's about the 1890 massacre of several hundred Lakota at Wonded Knee creek in South Dakota.

No mandolin in this one.
Guitars: My beloved 42BGD and a very nice Martin OM-18GE owned by Fran Guidry.
We ran the Martin through a Vox Amplug AC-30 model to get that overdriven tone in the bridge.

I don't mean for this to be my own little soap box.  If you're recording videos post the links here!

I just posted a video of me playing Down At The Fishin Hole arranged by Tommy Jones.   This was on my Cruz all hog 00.  Don't know how to put the link so it is on the SCGC playlist.
